Tournament Rules and Format

The Missoula Hacky Sack Championship is a premiere tournament style event, where teams are placed at random in a bracket. Each team will go head-to-head against another team in a 5 minute session where the goal is to register as many “Hacks” as possible. The team with most hacks at the end of the 5 minutes moves on to the next round. The Final 4 and Championship round will include points for freestyle moves and a 1 point reduction for drops. The freestyle points will be judged by our panel of judges.

“Hack”- When all team members touch the hacky sack.

Role of the Captains

Each team is required to have a Team Captain. The Team Captain is responsible for registration, payment, and team correspondence. In an addition each team captain will volunteer as “hack” counter for other teams in the tournament.

Official Tournament hacks sacks/footbag

Teams are required to use the official tournament hacks sack/footbag. Each team will be given a Dirtbag Footbag which they will keep and use for the entire tournament. You are not allowed to use your own tacky sack!

Teams

Teams are made of 4 people. Substitutes are not allowed and the same 4 people must remain together for the entirety of the tournament.

Freestyle scoring

All scoring will be in accordance with the IFPA freestyle scoring.

Drops

A drop is considered anytime the hacky sack touches the ground or is hand grabbed by a participant.

Payment

Each team is required to pay for a $15 registration fee that covers the cost the teams Dirtbag tacky sack, beer, and prizes.
